PACIFIC CHALLENGE SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP ROLLS TO STOCKTON 99

SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA (September 1, 2015) - The Pacific Challenge Series presented by PenneyLawyers.com invades Stockton 99 Speedway on Saturday night for third round of the Tri-Holiday Series and the eighth race for the 2015 championship. Granite Bay's John Moore leads Salida's Mike Beeler by only six markers in the hotly contested championship.

Beeler won the American Racer Tire dash for a set of tires at the August 15th race at Madera Speedway and ultimately finished third in the #6 David's Racing Products Chevrolet. Moore drove through the field in the #27 JM Environmental Camaro to finish seventh. His son Cole Moore is third in series standings and was the Naake Suspension Hard Charger at Madera after gaining 14 positions to finish fifth.

Moore won the "Ron Strmiska Firecracker 100" at Stockton on July 4th in round two of the three races at the historic quarter-mile asphalt oval. Moore also ran second in the Memorial Day weekend race at Stockton while Beeler has not finished in the top-five in either Stockton event this year.

The balance of the top-five in points includes Grass Valley's Don Swartz and rookie Hunter Corbitt of Folsom. Corbit has one win this season at Ukiah but failed to finish Madera with mechanical problems. Sixth in the standings is Elk Grove's Ron Chunn ahead of fellow Elk Grove pilot Mike Hite. Moraga's Travis Milburn, originally from Eagle, ID, ran fourth at Madera to leap into eighth in the points followed by Madera winner Jeremy Doss and Austin Gant.

With a rich history of Late Model racing, the Stockton Pacific Challenge Series races have always attracted strong local competition. Ross Strmiska is one of those drivers leading the charge. Strmiska is still in search of his first touring series stock car win, despite many years of success for the third generation racer. Strmiska has nearly ten top-fives in touring races at Stockton including a pair of thirds in PCS action at the facility.

A busy card of racing is scheduled with the Legends of the Pacific, the resurgent Super Stocks, the fan-favorite Bombers, and the youth racers in the California Mini Cups racing on Saturday night. Activities get underway Friday night with practice from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. On Saturday, pit gates will open at 1 p.m. with first practices beginning at 3:30 p.m. Grandstand gates will open at 4 p.m. with first races at 6 p.m. Adult tickets are $20, with youth, senior, and military w/ ID $15, and kids 10 and under are free!

The Pacific Challenge Series is presented by: Penney Racing Supply, Penney & Associates, American Racer Tires, Maita Chevrolet, Naake Suspension, Sunoco Fuels, Five Star Bodies, KB Fabrication, Lefthander Chassis, ARP Bodies, Joes Racing Products, Bassett Wheels, Frank's Radio, Racerbling, and Blakesley Sports Media. All PCS Super Late Models race ABC Bodies on American Racer Tires with Sunoco Racing Fuel.
